Project Profile

The Klang Valley MRT project involves the construction of a rail-based public transport network which, together with the existing light rail transit (LRT), monorail, KTM Komuter, KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit systems, forms the backbone of public transport for the Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley region.

SF Scope Of Work

The works comprise the supply and installation of the external post tension tendons into the erected segmental boxed girders by using a 15.2m multi-strand system. HDPE smooth round ducts are used to house tendons comprising of 19 strands each for piers spanning from 30.00 to 39.50 Metres in length. The multi-strand tendons are then stressed with a hydraulic jack that applies forces equivalent of up to 400 tonnes. In total the project has 106 piers providing structural support to the light rail frame, spanning 3.6 km in length with over 900 tonne of post tension strand to be installed by StrongForce.
