The 6 km long project includes earthworks, stormwater drainage, four bridges, slope grading, retaining and noise walls to a two lane dual carriage way.
SF Scope Of Work
The 173 permanent rock anchors were installed using track mounted drill rigs working from an earth beam. The design loads ranged from 380 KN to 1185 KN with five to ten 15.2mm strand. Bad ground conditions resulted in some anchors extending to 35m lengths. All anchors were proof tested to 1.5 times the safe working load and selected anchors have been monitored by load cells and lift off tests since the retaining wall was completed.
