StrongForce complete Package 1 of Lahore Orange Line Metro, Punjab, Pakistan.

StrongForce have completed the post tension works on package one of the Lahore Orange Line Metro running from Dera Gujjran to Chauburji. The project which spans 13.6km is one of two packages StrongForce has been contracted to undertake the post tension works on, which is part of a major infrastructure upgrade by the Lahore Metro Train Authority (LMTA).

Once complete the 27.1km Orange Line Metro will not only transform the public transportation system, but will also provide an easy mode of transport and help ease increasing traffic congestion for over 250,000 commuters in the Lahore metro vicinity on a daily basis.

Working in partnership with one of the leading infrastructure contractors in Pakistan, HCS, StrongForce have been contracted to carry out construction of the entire post tension package totaling over 3,900 ton.

The structure was erected using a launching gantry and balanced cantilever system to hold the box girders in place while the post tension works were carried out. The structural works commenced in July 2016 and during the projects peak StrongForce had over 30 Supervisors and 350 laborer’s working at several project locations on site and at HCS off site pre-cast yard to ensure all client program dates were achieved.

The post tension works were complete in August 2017 with the Orange Line set to open in the Q3 of 2018. The project is being widely viewed as a milestone for the transport industry in Pakistan and the LMTA project is seen as a steppingstone that will transform the industries overall transportation system for the country in the coming years.
