Successful Completion of Rio Energy Wind Tower Project
December, 2024
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Rio Energy Wind Tower project, a major milestone in renewable energy located in Caetité, Bahia, Brazil. Constructed by Weg S.A, the project consists of 46 wind towers, each standing at 120 meters, contributing significantly to the region’s clean energy capacity.
RSF’s scope included supplying and installing the external post-tensioning system. Utilising their EOTA-certified 19-strand wind tower post-tensioning system, RSF provided an advanced structural reinforcement solution designed to enhance the durability and efficiency of the concrete towers. The structural system also contributes to sustainability by reducing material usage and accelerating construction timelines.
With a total installed capacity of 193MW, the Rio Energy project will generate enough electricity to power over 480,000 Brazilian homes, reinforcing Brazil’s commitment to sustainable energy development. The successful integration of RSF’s engineering solutions highlights the importance of innovative infrastructure in advancing renewable energy initiatives.
